Walk down our disposables wall and the numbers escalate like a dare. 10K. 25K. 35K. 50K. 100,000 puffs.
So here's the question we get asked constantly: are those numbers real? Short answer — they're real measurements of something, just not of how you actually vape. Here's how to read them properly and work out what you're really paying.
⚡ TL;DR
- Puff counts come from short, machine-measured puffs. Yours are longer, so expect fewer.
- mL capacity is the honest number. Puffs are marketing; millilitres are physics.
- Boost modes cut your count — sometimes by half. That's a feature, not a defect.
- Best value on our shelf right now: Ripper XXX 100K at about 40¢ per 1,000 puffs.
- Worst value per puff, best as a trial: the 1600. Small on purpose.
Where the Number Comes From
Manufacturers test with a machine that takes a consistent, short puff — typically around two seconds with a fixed airflow. They run it until the device stops producing vapour and divide.
That's a legitimate lab measurement. It just isn't your mouth. Real people take longer pulls, harder pulls, and use boost modes. A three-second pull is roughly 50% more liquid per puff than a two-second one, so a 50K device gives you closer to 33K.
Nobody's lying to you. The test conditions simply aren't your conditions.
The Number That Doesn't Lie: mL
Every device holds a fixed volume of e-liquid, and no marketing department can change how far that goes. If you want to compare two devices honestly, compare millilitres.
That said, puff counts remain useful for comparing devices within a similar class, since they're all measured the same way. Just treat them as relative, not absolute.
What You're Actually Paying
Using our current shelf prices:
| Device | Price | Claimed puffs | Per 1,000 puffs |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ripper XXX 100K | $39.99 | 100,000 | ~40¢ |
| VICE ULTRA 60K | $39.99 | 60,000 | ~67¢ |
| Fog Formulas PRO X 50K | $35.99 | 50,000 | ~72¢ |
| GH Mist 34K | $29.99 | 34,000 | ~88¢ |
| BECO Slim 10K | $19.99 | 10,000 | ~$2.00 |
| Fog Formula 1600 | $19.99 | 1,600 | ~$12.50 |
Read that bottom row carefully. The 1600 costs roughly thirty times more per puff than the 100K. That doesn't make it a bad product — it's our best seller and the one we hand most ex-smokers, because $19.99 is a low-risk way to find out whether vaping works for you at all. It's a trial device, not a long-term plan.
💡 The comparison nobody makes: even the 40¢-per-1,000 winner loses to a refillable pod system on cost. A device you buy once plus bottles of e-juice beats every disposable on this table. Disposables buy convenience — a completely fair thing to buy, as long as you know that's the trade.
Boost Modes Eat Your Puffs
Most high-puff devices now ship with a boost or turbo setting. More power means warmer vapour, more cloud, and more liquid burned per second.
Run a device in boost permanently and you might see half the advertised count. The number on the box reflects standard mode. Boost is a dial you're spending puffs on — worth it when you want it, just don't be surprised.
Getting the Full Count
The habits that cost you puffs are the same ones that shorten every device's life: chain vaping, running the battery flat before recharging, leaving it in a hot car. Our 8 tips for making a disposable last longer covers the lot.

FAQ
Are vape puff counts accurate?
They're accurate for the lab conditions they're measured in — short, consistent machine puffs. Real-world use involves longer pulls and boost modes, so most people get meaningfully fewer puffs than the box claims.
Is a 100K puff vape real?
The device genuinely holds enough e-liquid to produce that many machine-standard puffs. Your actual count will be lower because your puffs are longer than the test puffs.
How long does a 50K disposable last?
It depends entirely on how you vape. Heavy use with boost mode might see a couple of weeks; light use in standard mode can stretch to a month or more.
Does boost mode reduce puff count?
Yes, significantly. Boost modes use more power and vaporise more liquid per second, so running in boost consistently can cut the advertised count roughly in half.
What's the cheapest disposable per puff?
Among our current stock, the Ripper XXX 100K at $39.99 works out around 40 cents per 1,000 puffs. A refillable pod system is cheaper again over time.
